A storyboard for a faux comedic 2d animated short, This was a huge project that took 9 weeks in total with other assignments. I really enjoyed the whole process from script to storyboard in style, totaling up to of 51 unique backgrounds, and even more drawings!
A couple of parts with a large track/pan/zoom looks like a rainbow because I chose to colour code the different positions in the storyboard. It made it easy to read up to 4 colours, but when certain shots had a lot of action in a small space, it ended up looking a bit of a mess.
I struggled to storyboard a certain scene that had a set number of pillars, elements moving in mid, back and foreground, 2 characters at different speeds, all syncing to a specific point. As this was an individual project, I had the advantage of directing the animatic as well, which I could sync up first, and extract the frames for the storyboard. On hindsight, I should have simply indicated how the scene is to be set up under the notes.
you can see the development process at the end. The original script and character designs were provided by Lorna Sun, but we were tasked to add on extra details and elements to the script which can be seen in red.
I featured as well a couple of my favourite backgrounds.
